Details on the AEM-1000
· Packaging Design – The size of a typical credit card. The AEM-1000 is 3.3 in by 2.2 in by 0.2 in.
· Non-Intrusive Application – Given its small size, low thermal profile and self-powered features there is no impact to the application or monitored device. No connectors or wires needed. Use it wirelessly inside electronics housing.
· Radio Frequency (RF) Communications - from feet (for security) up to 100 meters. Based on RFID standard using. This RF communications facilitates recovery of data from that environment monitoring and programming.
· Non-Volatile Storage (NV) – used for environmental sampling data, including date and time tracking information. Also used for storage of programming information (serial number, start date/time, security data…).
· Temperature Sensing/Sampling - Temperature sensing/sampling with date and time stamp, ranging from -10°C to 100°C. Non-volatile (NV) storage is used for this information. Sample time intervals are programmable in multiples of 10-seconds, up to one sample every 24-hours. Additional features are delayed start, high / low thresholds.
· Motion Sensing (option) - Three Dimensional (3D) Motion sensing utilizing sensitive and programmable accelerometers. Interrupt based sensitivity in multiple step g-force level (1.5g, to 10g).
· Shock Sensing (option) - At 10G Maximum measurement and NV storage is an extension of the 3D motions sensing to a higher g-force measurement. This shock measurement can be initiated by interrupt (at the exclusion of the lower g-force interrupt) or activated by the lower g-force energy sensor detecting motion.
· Higher-Level Shock Measuring (Option) - 200G Shock measuring is used in single dimension. Also, preprogrammable in steps up to 200g.
· Vibration (option) - Vibration is accomplished using the lower energy accelerometers listed above, in combination with the microcontroller for frequency and duration.
· Tamper Monitoring and Recording - Tamper monitoring and recording via various monitoring methods for physical and RF/Software tampering are available. Utilizing non-volatile storage of type of tampering with date and time of occurrence. Definition of methodology is part of the customization design process.
· Relative Humidity (optioin)- Relative Humidity (RH) sensing/sampling with date and time stamp, ranging from 10%RH to 90%RH. Non-volatile (NV) storage is used for this information. Sample time intervals are programmable in multiples of 10-seconds, up to 24-hours.
· Additional Sensor (option) - interfaces are available for customization. There can be a large variety of functions, for example external thermocouples, strain gauges, resistance or voltage/current measurements and more. Part of the customizable design.
· Reusable – The packaging and the functionality are designed for multiple uses. Once the current data is recovered, the data memory can be cleared and the programmable features can be reset for additional use, after additional use.
· Self-contained Power - (battery powered) with associated hardware and software design is used to extend useful life. As new technology power sources emerge, they will be considered as alternatives. Expected useful life is dependent on several application specifications and will need to be determined based on customization needs.
